Container ’96
2 May – 21 August 1996
Copenhagen Harbour, Copenhagen, Denmark
Curators from harbour towns around the world were asked to invite artists to make a work in a shipping container. The containers were organised architecturally on the dockside in Copenhagen.
Arms lay on the floor of an empty container. The interior was painted with dark red, rust-proof paint. The left and the right arm were cast in silver from the same body. Their index fingers pointed in opposite directions.
At the time weapons were still being smuggled into the North of Ireland; arms dividing a single body.
