KINSHIP Silk Scarf
Edition of 30
A limited edition of 30 beautiful silk scarves, printed with an image of an ancient Egyptian cartonnage, have been produced in celebration of Dorothy Cross’s project Kinship. Proceeds from the sale of this edition will fund a forthcoming book, published by Lilliput Press, featuring writing by Edmund De Waal, Max Porter, Ahdaf Soueif, Hisham Matar, Rosemary Mahoney, Sonali Deraniyagala, Philippe Sands, John Fitzgerald with Nadra Mabrouk and President Michael D. Higgins. The words will be accompanied by visual documentation of the project, and those who purchase a scarf can choose to be acknowledged in the publication for their support of the project.
These gorgeous silks can be worn or hung and measure 1m x 2m.
Kinship involves the return of an Egyptian mummy, after over 100 years, from University College Cork to Cairo. The essence of Kinship is to return the human remains of a man who was buried over 2000 years ago to his homeland.
