even was a gathering of udder works and inherited objects.
The central work was a black and white photograph of an x-ray of an adult human skull containing an x-ray of a foetal skeleton curled within the brain space.
Bible: A perfect hole was drilled through a large family bible. It was displayed at the page where the two Marys stand at the tomb grieving at the loss of Jesus. The hole pierces where their hearts would lie. Lover Snakes: Entwined snakes harboured silver reliquaries which contained their hearts. Convention: A gathering of snakes in a circle each with a fragile glass speech bubble.
Gallows: At the centre of the show a snake hung from a noose on an awkward wooden gallows, several others lay below and wound up the wooden steps - a theatre of judgement. “Close your eyes and open your mouth and see what god will give you” was a game of trust played in childhood. Photographs of children were hung high on the gallery walls with their mouths wide open in protest or innocence. Rugby: A series of photographs of rugby players taken close-up of the large, male, hands tenderly nestling the egg-shaped ball. Cuttlefish Rings: Sets of wedding rings were cast in gold using the ancient system of pouring molten metal into the back of cuttlefish, creating interlinked rings impossible to wear. Trunk: an old wooden trunk sat with the lid slightly open. Inside, in a dark corner, a pair of panties lay with a cow teat sewn perfectly into the gusset.
